What It's All About
There was a member at the UPNetwork named Vegeta. He made a sig that was so long that a policy was put in place limiting the height and width permissions for all member signatures. While details have been forgotten, halloweenjack felt it prudent to create the Ultra Vegeta Sig as his way of protesting the signature policy. He took Vegeta's signature and copy+pasted it in his own signature space several times, calling it the Ultra Vegeta Sig. This occurred early in the 3rd Board.
The primary moderator involved with the signature policy was CPioli, and he felt that halloweenjack's actions targeted him. While the moderators defended CPioli's stance and criticized halloweenjack, the community rallied behind halloweenjack. Upset by this, CPioli quit the UPNetwork and would not be seen again for a long time.
Consequences
- the moderators' confidence in their authority was shaken up
- halloweenjack became more rebellious against moderator authority
- the signature policy was re-examined
- memory of this event would influence future discussions on signature policy
Whatever Happened to Them?
CPioli eventually returned to the UPNetwork community, posting at the Kuno forums as The Holy CPioli. He left again when Talon87 went too far in upsetting him. He is, however, in touch with anybody who seeks him out through AIM.
halloweenjack became an administrator himself well before the Jaxel era came to a close. He has held moderator or administrator positions at every replacement-UPNetwork board since Board 4 shut down.
